There's a reason why epidemic weight problems, obesity in kids and an over-all lack of fitness just never happened back in the early days of civilization. The food sources that were available for the earliest caveman were basic and provided the necessary fuel for and growth and survival. It was Mastodon meat, berries, roots, some fats and fish that kept the caveman going.
Well what do you know? A Balance of protein, carbohydrates, and fats seemed to be on the menu every day of the year. They never had to worry about quick weight loss. Fast food joints were nowhere to be seen. Mastodon meat never came pre-packaged with noodles for a quick and easy meal for the busy cave-man. There was no such thing as sugar and flour and designer fats and preservatives that lead to heart disease, diabetes, and a host of other diseases. Combine that with the fact that they burned all their extra calories by walking for miles every day in search of food and you have yourself a slimmed-down caveman. You certainly don't have to go that far back to realize how much eating habits have changed over the years. It is this change in nutrition habits that have so many people looking for quick weight loss ideas.
People who are dealing with weight issues should not be so down on themselves and lay the burden of blame for their fitness circumstances or obesity issues all on themselves. In so many ways we are all a product of our environment and start off in the wrong direction from the moment we are born because we don't know any better and things just get out of control. Take for example in the early 19th century when kids were born into a farm family. They were also products of "their" environment. Their lives revolved around walking to school, helping with chores and eating food from farm crops and livestock. They would pick wild berries for pies, drink wholesome milk from their own cows, and drink water from sparkling rivers, streams, or their very own fresh-water wells. A "treat" might be to go to town and have a piece of candy from the General Store every few weeks. Finding ways for quick weight loss was simply never an issue. They did their chores and helped around the farm and this provided them with a good balance of physical exercise to go along with amazing, wholesome food that they consumed on a daily basis. When you think of a girl who is raised on a farm she grows up to be "wholesome" and beautiful. The boys grow big and strong. Very seldom were kids ever obese in those generations. Obesity in kids or adults was simply not an issue. Obesity around the world never became an issue until mass production of food, using preservatives in food, and fast food all became an accepted part of our diets. Now thousands of people are looking for quick weight loss ideas. Combine this change in eating habits with a decline in fitness in the general population and you have a disaster waiting to happen. Well, it already is. Kids with type 2 diabetes as young as 10 or 11 years old. I think that's horrific and should simply not be happening. Forget the fancy diets and think about eating basic wholesome food for 8 weeks or so and adopt a fitness program on a regular basis just as a test.
For all those people who say that they can't lose weight, I defy them to say they can't lose weight if they eliminate wheat, sugar (or any type of sweetener, except possible honey), all but one small fruit a day, packaged food, processed food of any kind, canned food, and any kid of junk food from their diet. So in other words, no bread, buns, muffins, cake, cookies, donuts, soda, chocolate, sweeteners, hot dogs, hamburgers, milk, ice cream, bacon, cheese, sausages, packaged processed meat, canned food, and the list goes on and on of the food that is a vexation to your spirit and possibly slowly killing you. If your goal is to see quick weight loss, then it's necessary to change the way you look at food and it's nutritional value, and what you are doing for fitness in your life. Stick to fresh or frozen vegetables, eggs, butter, whole grains like brown rice, whole wheat pasta(average servings twice a week) and oatmeal, potatoes, yams, sweet potatoes, coconut oil, olive oil, water, nuts, two medium black coffee per day if desired or herbal tea, beef twice a week if desired, fish(canned tuna and salmon okay), chicken, turkey, lamb, and limited fruit as they are high in sugar.
While you give these food choices a try, get out there and go for a walk, ride your bike, or go for a swim. Do "something" physically active for 3 or 4 days a week for an hour or so. Regardless of how much weight you have to lose, there is no way you will not lose weight if you follow this regimen and stick to it faithfully for an 8 week test period. Once you see the difference it makes after your 2 month experiment you will see why it's the food that's available to us combined with a lack of physical exercise that is causing all the obesity problems. Once "you" take control of what goes into your system, magic can happen. Now if you are thrilled with your quick weight loss after your little trial, you will know the secret to quick weight loss. You will realize that it is not so much rapid weight loss as it is "steady" wholesome weight loss. You can slowly add more into your diet and monitor the difference it makes. Add dairy products like skim milk and yogurt but pass on the ice cream and coffee cream. Add a few more fruits and try a bit more whole-wheat pasta, whole wheat bread, brown rice and stay with the quality fats--coconut oil and virgin olive oil and honey as your main sweetener. I think it's an easy way to lose weight if it's truly in your heart to do what it takes. How many months and years and books and diets have you gone through with few results to show? What can be so hard about trying an eating plan and fitness plan for 8 weeks that could change your life? 8 weeks seems like quick weight loss to me. Even if it's just the start of your quick weight loss program, at least you will be on the right path to eventual success. Over the thirty plus years that I have been an endurance athlete I have tried many different diet combination's to see what worked best as far as maintaining a perfect weight for my height and improving my recovery from training and racing, and at the same time gain more endurance. All of these positive reactions will give you a sense of pride and higher self-esteem. It is there for the taking. You just have to get started. Here are a few of the food choices and diet ideas I have tried and have had success with over the years. At the bottom of this page you will see that I have links to some of the diet ideas that were instrumental in helping me reach my optimum weight, increase endurance, and feel great. VIRGIN OLIVE OIL Once I discovered the value of virgin olive oil as a fat, I soon got rid of all the poorer choices for oil that is on the market today. COCONUT OIL Who would ever have thought that an oil that tastes as great as coconut oil could have so many spectacular uses and at the same time help you "lose weight"? CINNAMON AND HONEY Wow! What a great combination and these two tasty foods also help you control cholesterol levels and lose weight. Who says diets have to be bland and boring? TEEN WEIGHT LOSS TIPS I feel particularly bad for today's teens who are dealing with weight issues, because as I said earlier, it is not all their fault and they are a product of the world they have been born into. High technology, fast food, and a lack of time spent on fitness are simply a deadly combination. RAW FOOD WEIGHT LOSS There is a lot to be said for adding raw food to your diet, but for some people there might be digestion issues. It is true that most of the nutritional benefits of many foods are lost in the cooking methods, but there is a happy medium. WEIGHT LOSS MOTIVATION There are so many great reasons to get control of the situation you find yourself in as far as your physical appearance and fitness level. Often it's just a matter of taking that first step and discovering just how much you are capable of.
